Initial prototypes for Inside/Outside have been completed and early evaluations show promising results. There is interest in the project, particularly from individuals who are usually un-interested in computing gadgets, though detailed user studies need to be conducted to confirm this. Future developments include further exploration and exploitation of the ad-hoc networking capabilities of the project, especially in relation to mobility and parasitic deployment of sensor networks within the urban zone. New scenarios and prototypes, which address intercommunication between the Inside/Outside handbag and other environmental elements will also be considered. As a wearable everyday object Inside/Outside provides a compelling context for research into public space and urban behavior.
